About
I have been working in the college and career field for the past twelve years during which time I’ve had the opportunity to help hundreds of students successfully navigate the path to higher education. As a credentialed school counselor and certified Gallup Strengths Coach, I believe in a strengths-based approach to college and career advising. Research shows that by tapping into natural abilities and interests students have the best chance of success in college, career and in life.
As a mother of two college graduates, I understand first-hand the stress associated with college applications and admission. As a high school college advisor, I have met with hundreds of admissions directors, toured numerous colleges and universities and worked with a diverse student population. My advice is strategic, individualized and honest. My goal is to help my students identify and target all-around "best-fit" institutions and alleviate some of the anxiety of the college application process by a simple structured and organized approach. You may even have some fun in the process!
I received my BA from University of California Santa Barbara, my M.S. in School Counseling from the University of the Southwest and hold a CA Pupil Personnel Services Credential. I am a certified Myers Briggs practitioner and a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. I am an associate member of the IECA, a member of the American School Counselor Association and the California Association of School Counselors.
